Kuempel Stadium has undergone a complete upgrade to its playing surface.  The old natural gras surface has been ripped out and a new playing surface is now in place.  It has the synethetic blades of grass with rubber infil.

The new turf is the same sort as is used at many new stadiums around the country and the state.  Similar fields are in use at RRISD Stadium and Dragon Stadium in District 15-5A. 

The Field is now finished and ready for use by football, band, track & field and soccer.
